    Notizen
    • Leone (Lee) Senske, age 90, of Augusta, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2013, at the Augusta Area Nursing Home, Augusta, Wisconsin.
Lee had been a Nursing Home resident since the death of her husband, Harry E. Senske (Major, U.S.A.F., Retired), in March 2009. Lee was born on Valentine's Day, 1923, to Rexford Warren Swartz and Clara (Smith) Swartz who were homesteaders in Davidson, Saskactewan, Canada. Lee was a person of many talents. She was a baker of wedding and celebration cakes, an accomplished seamstress, and an avid Tupperware saleswoman. She enjoyed her Bible study group, teaching Sunday school, and volunteering for Meals on Wheels. Most of all, Lee enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Always fond of animals, Lee had over 20 cats once she retired to the Senske family farm in Augusta. Some in the community knew her as the 'Cat Lady'. Lee was a longtime faithful and active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Senske; and four of her siblings, Earl, Lyle, Doris, and Lois, who did in infancy.
She is survived by her brother, Noel (Carol) of Eau Claire; sister, Edith Henry of Kenosha; sister-in-law, Ann (Lyle) Swartz of Stanley, Wisconsin; and brother-in-law, John Stich (Doris) of Oconto, Wisconsin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lee was a loving and supportive wife and mother and is survived by her two sons, Harold E. of Augusta and Robert W. (Sara) of Wheaton, IL, both of whom were decorated while serving in Vietnam. Lee was also the loving grandmother of Kirsten and Kelli (Harold and Lora Lee) and Eric and Caroline (Robert and Sara); and a great-grandmother of Alan (Kirstin) and Emily (Kelli).
During her husband, Harry's, 23 year career in the Air Force as a fighter pilot, Lee traveled extensively, visited 10 countries, lived in Puerto Rico, and throughout the United States, including Texas, California, Georgia, Florida, Washington, D.C., Omaha, Nebraska, and North Dakota. Lee and Harry enjoyed traveling to visit family and long-time military friends, throughout the U.S. Lee was even crowned Queen of the "Flying Farmers"!
Funeral services will be held Sat. May 18, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with burial in the West Lawn Cemetery, both in Augusta. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Augusta, an education fund for the children of veterans being set up by the son's of Lee and Harry Senske, or an animal shelter charity of your choice.
